RiseUp exists because I did not get up.
I was never a morning person. Every alarm lost against me: swiped away half asleep, snoozed endlessly, slept on. The plan at night, the thumb in the morning.
At some point it was clear: I do not need another app. I need an action I cannot negotiate with. So I built myself an alarm that can only be turned off by scanning a physical tag, and tested it on my own daily life. It worked. For the first time in years I got up when it rang.
Then friends tried it, with the same effect. Affordable, set up in minutes, genuinely effective. It was not a one-off. The self-experiment became RiseUp: app and Tag that build a ritual together.
RiseUp comes from northern Germany. That is also where every Tag is made. Made in Germany is not a slogan for us, it is where we are from.

Because an app does not solve the actual problem. Any alarm app can be swiped away in bed. Not RiseUp: the alarm only ends once you have gotten up and scanned the Tag in another room. The difference is not the software, it is the distance.

Five minutes after the scan, RiseUp checks in once more: scan the Tag again or the alarm continues. You set the number of confirmations in the app. Going back to bed is not worth it.
Very unlikely: no battery, no electronics that age. If it does happen: the emergency stop ends the alarm up to 3× per month even without the Tag. Enough time to order a replacement. Your statutory warranty applies regardless.
